Mireia Belmonte has won in the pool of London Aquatic Center the first medal for the Spanish delegation at the London 2012 Olympic Games. The Spanish swimmer won the silver medal in the 200 meters butterfly after leading the test until the last long and end with a time of 2:05.25.
Jiao Liuyang Only Chinese could overtake the Spanish, who took the lead in the first 100 meters of the race. And to do so he had to beat the Olympic record with 2:04.06. Third place and therefore the bronze medal went to Japan's Natsumi Hoshi, with a time of 2:05.48.
